Certified signage in Chiemgau

With its 1400-kilometer network of cycle paths, Chiemgau has long been considered an Eldorado for cyclists. Over the past two years, the tourism association, in collaboration with green-solutions and Topplan has signposted the routes in accordance with the FGSV standard.

After completion of the project, the opening was celebrated on May 9, 2015.

Chiemgau – “We now have signage that is absolutely worthy of certification,” said Managing Director of Chiemgau Tourismus, Stephan Semmelmayr, during the “bike opening”. This means that Chiemgau will soon be one of the first certified ADFC cycling regions in Germany.

Review of the project:

At the end of May 2013 green-solutions with the route and signage planning was commissioned. On July 8, 2013, the starting signal was given and the concept was developed at green-solutions in collaboration with the 35 municipalities was in full swing. As part of the concept phase, a cycle network of 1,400 km was developed, covering both the needs of visitors and everyday cyclists. The next step was to ride the individual routes on site and enter the routes and signposting data in “tourinfra” and incorporated into “tourinfra”. Based on the data, the next step was to deliver the signage to the sign company Ortner as a print template including a layout plan. The signage in the new “Radl-Paradies” was set up by the municipality itself with the help of the assembly instructions.

Look forward to top signposted adventure tours with moderate gradients: “Chiemsee Cycle Trail”, “Chiemsee Circular Trail”, “Chiemgau Cycle Trail”, “Ice Age Tour”, “Cult Tour”, “Adelholzen Cycle Tour”, “Achental Cycle Trail”, “Monastery Trail”, “Waginger See Circular Trail”, “Farm Safari”, “Cycle in Harmony” and much more.
