With the Trans Bayerwald project, the Tourism Association of Eastern Bavaria is the winner of the ADFC Bayern’s Golden Pedal 2020 in the category “Best overall cycle tourism concept” and can shine with 3rd place at the ADAC Tourism Award 2020.
With a total length of approx. 700 km and 17,000 meters in altitude, Germany’s longest mountain bike route offers a total of 14 daily stages, which are divided into a northern and southern route. The signposting of the MTB routes guides the flow of visitors in a targeted manner, taking nature conservation into account. In order to achieve the best possible result, district tourism experts, municipalities, Bavarian State Forests, nature parks, the national park, nature conservation authorities and many more were actively involved.
We worked very closely with green-solution as part of the implementation of the LEADER cooperation project “Implementation of the Trans Bayerwald mountain bike route”. The main task was the initial inspection and documentation of the 700 km long route as well as the final approval of the signage. In addition, the signage concept was developed and implemented together with our partners. The existing tools from green-solution, such as the route management system and the route planner, contributed significantly to the organization of the route and made work easier. The cooperation with green-solution was reliable, competent and trustworthy at all times.
