After a successful start to the hiking project, the municipal company Strukturentwicklung Landkreis Pfaffenhofen a. d. Ilm (KUS) has commissioned green-solutions with the “Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm district cycling project”. In cooperation with the 19 district municipalities, the municipal company is the originator of a comprehensive LEADER-funded cycling campaign in the district.

Around 650 kilometers of cycle routes will be newly recorded in coordination with the KUS, the 19 municipalities in the district and all relevant authorities. Common quality standards are defined. Particular attention will be paid to the criteria of safety, route quality, closing gaps in the network and better public transport connections. The new routes will then be incorporated into the overall route network. There are also plans to develop various themed tours based on the new route network.

The GPS-supported recording of the previous routes and the new planning with tourinframobil could already be started at the beginning of May due to the good weather.
