The hiking trail network of the Ammergau Alps Nature Park covers over 500 km. Between 2016 and 2018, the hiking trails were coordinated by green-solutions in cooperation with all relevant stakeholders, digitally recorded in the field and a new uniform signage system was planned for the entire region. tourinfra® was already of central importance here: the future signage had already become visible to all those involved thanks to tourinfra before it was installed.
After ordering the signs directly from tourinfra®, the next strength of our tool became apparent during the installation of the signage itself:
Municipal building yards, DAV sections and external service providers: with the help of tourinfra, they were all able to access the signage planning with concrete location data for the planned signage outside in the terrain and successfully complete the installation of the new signage in 2018/2019.
Following the successful installation, the aim now is to ensure the quality of the range in the long term.
tourinfra® actively supports the Ammergau Alps Nature Park and its rangers as a quality management tool. With tourinfra® mobil, the signage at the location can be checked in the field and reports of damage or missing signs can be submitted to those responsible via the reporting system.
In addition, tourinfra® proves to be a valuable support for the safety of hikers in the nature park. The mountain rescue service also has access to tourinfra®. In the event of an emergency, the mountain rescue service can immediately determine the coordinates for their rescue mission based on the location information provided on the main signposts.
Tourinfra proved to be a valuable tool during the re-signposting of hiking trails in a total of six municipalities and seven DAV sections. However, a new signposting project does not end with the installation of the signposts. If signposts are damaged or subsequent improvements are necessary, Tourinfra provides us with optimum support in the quality management of the hiking infrastructure.
