A complete success – The recording and signage planning of the Niederbayerntour planned by the Tourismusverband Ostbayern and carried out by green-solutions in 2017 is making waves. We are pleased about the recently published press release and the good cooperation with the Tourism Association of Eastern Bavaria. Below is a short excerpt from the press release.
Press release, 26.03.2018
Heavenly: New gourmet cycle route combines the delicacies of Lower Bavaria
Swimming trunks, beer, baroque: the Niederbayerntour leads 244 kilometers from Passau via Landshut to Regensburg(sk). To mark the start of the cycling season, the Tourismusverband Ostbayern e.V. (TVO) has signposted a new long-distance cycle route on which you can comfortably “cycle” all of Lower Bavaria – the Niederbayerntour. Under the motto “heavenly cycling”, you can enjoy seven stages from Passau to Regensburg or vice versa. But not just along the Danube, but south of it on 244 kilometers across the golf and thermal spa region. The low gradient tour is suitable for leisure cyclists and sporty riders, for e-bikers and families with children, nature lovers, culture vultures – and for fans of the regional art of brewing and beer garden culture.
Perfect combination of culture and nature
The river cycle paths along the Vils, Isar and Großer Laber are relaxing and tranquil. And at the same time, the route is brimming with superlatives. The Lower Bavaria tour takes cyclists to the largest church organ in the world in Passau, to Bavaria’s most beautiful Marienkirche church in Aldersbach, to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Regensburg and through Europe’s largest hop-growing areas in the Hallertau and pickling gherkins in Dingolfinger Land. Along the way, swimming lakes, nature reserves, monastery churches and beer gardens invite you to take a break. The aim is to make it as easy as possible for cyclists to discover the tourist and cultural highlights of Lower Bavaria. The comfortable paths and carefully designed routes meet all the quality criteria for an award from the German Cyclists’ Association. But that’s not all: an extensive network of adventure tours has been signposted to accompany the Lower Bavaria tour. Cyclists have access to 13 towns and five rivers over 1000 kilometers.
